Is happiness just a moment in time, often missed and sometimes captured?

I tend to realise how happy I was, more than how happy I am when I’m actually happy.  I’m not sure why that is.  Maybe it has something to do with good needing the bad.  That is, without the bad things in the world the good things would mean nothing.  There would be no means to measure the difference.

Common sense right?

To be honest, I don’t know what I’m trying to say in this post.  I have nothing in the world to feel depressed about, and have been lucky in recent times with “my turn” (for good things) having come around.  So overall I’m happy and calm.  But inside I feel damaged, broken, and bruised.

To me, everything in the world means nothing when you don’t have those whom you love and cherish to share it with.

Today is my girlfriend’s 24th birthday.

You’re a very special girl.  One that I love so very much.  You bring happiness and warmth to me, and enjoyment in everyday life.

Always remember that the world is at your feet, and you can have anything you desire.  But only if you work for it.  Remember that even when things look hopeless that there’s always a chance and always a way.  All it takes is belief in yourself.
